The Hoag Palliative Care Program, a comprehensive and specialized program led by Vincent Nguyen, D.O., embraces a multidisciplinary approach to providing holistic care to lighten the burdens felt by patients and their families. Hoag’s palliative care team focuses on the prevention, assessment and treatment of pain and other symptoms. This program aims to deliver psychological, spiritual and emotional support while honoring the patient’s dignity and respecting the patient’s choices.
With the community’s support, the Hoag Palliative Care Program is committed to educating physicians in palliative care medicine techniques. In partnership with the University of California, Irvine, Hoag provides essential physician fellowship training that deeply integrates palliative care services into the fabric of care at Hoag. Philanthropic gifts will ensure the growth of the fellowship program and position Hoag as a leader in training and bringing physicians into the specialized field of palliative medicine. Committed donors expand Hoag’s ability to care for patients with serious illness and help deepen the understanding of palliative care throughout the community.
