Innovative new projects will enhance labor and delivery monitoring, establish a new center for pain relief at Hoag, and advance cancer research and patient care.
At its most recent meeting, Hoag Innovators—a group of donors with a shared vision for advancing health care innovation through the power of collective giving—held their annual fall meeting, which featured four exciting presentations from leading Hoag physicians. Innovators members listened intently to each pitch in Shark Tank-fashion, complete with an interactive Q&A session with presenters, before voting on how best to allocate the record $1 million set aside for this round of funding. Based on the vote, three new projects received funding: PeriWatch, an artificial intelligence software for advanced labor and delivery monitoring at the Women’s Health Institute; a new integrated center for pain relief within the Pickup Family Neurosciences Institute; and Hoag’s Translational Research Lab, which is bridging the gap between scientific research discoveries and novel improvements in patient care at the Hoag Family Cancer Institute.
