Festive holiday gala raised more than $1.3 million in support of Hoag
Newport Beach, CA (December 14, 2019) – Hoag Hospital Foundation welcomed Hoag supporters, volunteers and friends to the Monarch Beach Resort to celebrate the 53rd Annual Christmas Carol Ball on Saturday, December 14, 2019. This year’s Christmas Carol Ball raised more than $1,360,000 million to support Hoag.
Robert and Kitty Brunswick, co-chairs of this year’s gala, greeted and thanked the more than 600 guests in attendance. “Kitty and I want to thank you for being here tonight and for your continued support of Hoag. Each of you play an important part in the success of the Hoag Promise Campaign, and we thank you for helping bring world-class care to our community.”
“Robert and Kitty are generous friends of Hoag. We appreciate their leadership in establishing Hoag Innovators to support Hoag in acquiring advanced technologies and implementing innovative services necessary to offer world-class health care right here in Orange County,” said Flynn A. Andrizzi, Ph.D., president, Hoag Hospital Foundation. “We appreciate the energy and enthusiasm they brought as co-chairs of this year’s ball. They are joined by a group of underwriters who embody the spirit of giving that has symbolized the Christmas Carol Ball for 53 years and counting.”
Andrizzi added that the Hoag Promise Campaign has raised $644 million to date, exceeding the Hoag Hospital Foundation’s goal to 103 percent of its $627 million goal by December 31, 2020.
Hoag Director of Pastoral Care Reverend Don Oliver, Ph.D., led the blessing over a beautiful dinner prepared by Executive Chef Collin Thornton. The crowd enjoyed a live performance by the energetic band NRG and danced the night away, many taking home silent auction items donated by friends of Hoag.
